No-Deforestation, Regenerative-Certified Palm Oil

Palm oil is often linked to deforestation, but in Liberia, the reality is different. Here, the dura palm variety grows naturally in the wild, not on large plantations. This means palm oil production does not require deforestation—yet traditional processing methods limit its full potential.

Most small-scale processors in rural communities still extract palm oil by hand, manually squeezing the fruit, which results in 50% lower yields and significant labor intensity.

Additionally, traditional methods require excessive water and time, making the process inefficient and unsustainable.

At J-Palm Liberia, we have intentionally built a better way. By installing mini palm oil mills in these villages, we provide processors with access to modern technology that:

  • Increases palm oil output by 50%

  • Reduces processing time by 65%

  • Lowers water use by 70%

In recognition of our commitment to sustainability, J-Palm Liberia has become the first company in the world to obtain Regenerative Certification for wild palm oil production. This certification proves that our operations not only avoid deforestation but actively regenerate local ecosystems, improving soil health, biodiversity, and long-term environmental resilience.

This model not only helps small-scale processors earn more from their harvests, but it also ensures that palm oil is produced in harmony with nature. By prioritizing sustainability, efficiency, and economic empowerment, we are proving that palm oil can be a force for both people and the planet.
